Israeli calls to break into al-Aqasa mosque
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/21/2002
Thousands of Palestinians on Sunday organized a demonstration of protest in Gaza calling for lifting the oppressive siege imposed by the Israeli forces, and vowed to continue the Intifada, while the Palestinian Authority urged the international community to interfere to halt the aggression.
An official at the " Islamic Jihad" movement said the " Saraya al-Quds " ( Jerusalem groups) will retaliate the continued Israeli attacks especially the siege imposed on Ramullah. He said that "there are military answers to the attacks carried out by the Israeli forces," calling on the Palestinian Authority to release the Palestinian detainees so as to maintain the Palestinian national unity.
Meantime, one Israeli soldier and one settler were wounded during confrontations took place in al-Teira quarters in Ramullah between the Palestinian Intifada youths and the Israeli soldiers, while two Israelis were also wounded when Palestinian fire was opened at them near Hertzilia settlement.
The governor of Jerusalem Ehud Olmert called for breaking into al-Aqsa mosque, claiming that such a measure coincides with the decision of the Israeli intelligence ( al-Shabak) so as to allow all the Israelis will be permitted to visit al-Aqsa mosque.
