Arafat sends a message to Bush
Palestine-USA, Politics, 1/21/2002
The chairman of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Yasser Arafat has sent a message on Sunday to the US President George Bush in which he urged for intermediate intervention in collaboration with Russia, the UN and other countries in order to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and to implement the Mitchell package and Tenet understandings.
For his part, the Palestinian official for planning and international cooperation at the Palestinian Authority Saeb Oreikat expressed the hope of the Palestinian side to get the response of the US administration to this message, noting the need of an intensive Palestinian move on the Arab and European arena and at the level of the UN to discuss the deteriorated conditions in the occupied territories. The Israeli radio reported.
