India wants to improve relations with Morocco, diplomat
Morocco-India, Economics, 1/19/2002

India gives utmost interest to improving relations with Morocco, especially in the economic realm, said Indian ambassador to Rabat, Ramiah Rajagopalan.

The Indian diplomat, who was accompanied by a visiting Indian deputy, made the statement at a meeting here Wednesday, with Moroccan minister of industry, commerce, energy and mining, Mustapha Mansouri.

The Indian party called on the two countries' businessmen to tighten relations and promote partnership.

Trade exchanges between India and Morocco have scored a positive improvement over the past years and reached a satisfactory volume, but the two countries have potentials to further improve their economic ties, said Mansouri.

The two parties identified several sectors where cooperation can be fruitful, such as phosphate, small and middle-sized industries, and tobacco.
