Population census in Morocco postponed to 2003
Morocco, Local, 1/19/2002
The general population census in Morocco, initially scheduled for 2002, was postponed to 2003.
The postponement was decided by the government council at its weekly meeting held in Rabat Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
The decision was motivated by the holding of parliamentary elections next September.
The census mobilizes some 70,000 teachers and a large number of civil servants from the ministry of the interior.
