Ghali to convey message from Vajpayee to Mubarak
Egypt-India, Economics, 1/17/2002

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali Wednesday said he would convey a verbal message from Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to President Hosni Mubarak inviting him to visit India at the earliest possible time.

In statements to MENA, Ghali said he would present a report to Mubarak and Prime Minister Atef Ebeid on the eight-day visit of the Egyptian delegation to India.

Ghali and Minister of Industry and Technological Development Ali Al-Saedi had Tuesday conferred with Vajpayee on promotion of bilateral cooperation in-various domains.

Ghali said that he invited his Indian counterpart to visit Egypt in April for talks on boosting trade and industrial links.

"An Egyptian businessmen delegation would visit India soon for furthering trade ties," he added.

Ghali added that there were huge potentials for cooperation in different domains that include training, information management, marketing and hi-technology.

Ghali said he discussed with Indian investors the increase of joint investments in Egypt, already estimated at $ 1 billion.

Meanwhile, Al-Saedi attended a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Indian Federation of Engineering Industries and the Egyptian Industry Federation in training.

The Egyptian delegation had started its visit to India on January 9.
