Air senegal international to double fleet

The Moroccan-Senegalese carrier, Air Senegal International (ASI), will add two Boeings (757 and 737) to its fleet as of next March, to service Africa, Europe and the United States.
The Moroccan carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) holds 51% of ASI, which possesses two planes (a Boeing 737-200 and a Dash 8 Q300), while the Senegalese government holds 49% of ASI capital.
The Moroccan-Senegalese carrier posted, a year after it was set up, a turnover of US$ 14.9 Mln while it was expecting a turnover of only US$ 9.5 Mln.
ASI, which operates 24 national and 48 international flights per week, carried 124,000 passengers in 2001 while forecasts had set the number at 98,000 passengers only.
