Thai parliamentary delegation holds meetings with Moroccan officials

A Thai Senate delegation currently on a visit to Morocco together with a group of Thai businessmen held on Wednesday a series of meetings with Moroccan officials, including prime minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
The Thai delegation, led by vice-speaker of the Thai senate Pichet Pattanachote, also met with economy, finance, privatization and tourism minister, Fathallah Oualalou, over the need for the two countries to set a joint commission to follow up Morocco-Thai cooperation programs.
Morocco and Thailand, which have both covered big strides in development and structure modernization, have a lot to share on means to consolidate progress achieved, said Oualalou.
The Thai delegation voiced readiness to mobilize the private and public sectors to promote investments and partnership between the two countries.
The Moroccan chamber of advisors (upper chamber) announced on Tuesday the birth of a Moroccan-Thai parliamentary friendship group. The announcement was made during a meeting between speaker of the chamber of advisors, Mustapha Oukacha, and the Thai delegation.
The Thai senators also met on Wednesday with speaker of the House of representatives, Abdelouahed Radi had been received by the King of Thailand last fall when he was on a visit to Bangkok.
