Moroccan parliamentary delegation in Turkey
Morocco-Turkey, Politics, 1/16/2002
A Moroccan parliamentary delegation started on Tuesday a five-day visit to Turkey at the invitation of the Turkey-Morocco parliamentary friendship group.
Head of the delegation and of the Morocco-Turkey parliamentary friendship group, Mohand Laensar, underlined in a statement to MAP correspondent here the importance of parliamentary action in fostering economic cooperation. He said Moroccan-Turkish trade exchanges are still low and do not match the two countries' potentials.
He stated further that the Moroccan parliament is playing a key role in what he called "parliamentary diplomacy" and said the parliament backs the action of the Moroccan government, diplomacy and economic operators, mainly through exploring cooperation opportunities with friendly countries.
