Jordan stresses implementation of al-Wahda dam jointly with Syria

One Jordanian official has stressed Jordan's determination to carry out the al-Wahda joint dam project with Syria as from its set date in being a strategic project and an important source of water.
The secretary of the Jordan valley authority Zafer al-Alem said that the execution of this project will start in the mid of this year 2002.
In a press statement he made in Amman on Tuesday, al-Alem said that the reason behind the delay of implementing al-Wahda dam project is because of revising designs, specifications on documents relating to the project, prepared since 1989 and making necessary amendments.
