Moroccan businessmen visit Iraq
Iraq-Morocco, Economics, 1/15/2002
A group of Moroccan businessmen, led by minister of foreign commerce, Abdelkrim Benatik, started on Monday a three-day visit to Iraq.
The Moroccan minister renewed in a statement to reporters Morocco's call for the lifting of the embargo imposed on Iraq for more than 11 years. The motives of this visit are not commercial only, he said, it also aims at consolidating relationships between the two Arab states.
The delegation made of some 50 managers from different sectors will meet Iraqi officials in charge of commerce, industry, electricity, healthcare, housing, education and transport.
The Moroccan businessmen had already come to Baghdad for the international trade fair two months ago.
