US intelligence delegation in Kuwait
Kuwait-USA, Politics, 1/15/2002

The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Monday quoted well-informed sources at the Kuwaiti foreign ministry as saying that an American intelligence delegation is making meetings with several security, financial and banking officials in Kuwait in order to collect information about bank accounts and names in the framework of the terrorism -fighting campaign.

The sources told the paper that the visit of the US delegation falls in the context of maintaining intelligence cooperation between the two sides, rejecting to give other details. The sources added that another delegation will arrive in Kuwait next week in a similar mission.

The source denied what has been rumored that the delegation has come for investigation, nothing that this delegation came to convene joint meetings and discussions with Kuwaiti security sides.
