Moroccan business delegation in Baghdad
Iraq-Morocco, Economics, 1/14/2002
A Moroccan business delegation is expected in Baghdad this Monday on a three-day visit.
The Moroccan delegation, led by secretary of state for foreign trade, Abdelkrim Ben Atiq, will explore with Iraqi interlocutors prospects for the promotion of trade exchanges between the two states, in the frame of the oil-for-food program.
The delegation members will be received by Iraqi minister of trade, Mohammed Mehdi Saleh, as well as by vice-president Taha Yassine Ramadane and will hold meetings with Iraqi businessmen.
Between October 2000 and May 2001, Morocco sold Iraq US$ 55 million worth of products.
The oil-for-food program was adopted by the United Nations to alleviate the incidence of the embargo imposed on Iraq.
