Morocco's el aynaoui qualifies to 2nd round of Melbourne tennis tournament

Morocco's Younes El Aynaoui, 21 seeded, qualified this Monday to the second round of the international tennis tournament of Melbourne, after beating Czech Jiri Vanek

In the second round of the US$ 8.59 million-worth competition, El Aynaoui will meet either Danish Keneth Carlsen or Spanish Fernando Vicente.

El Aynaoui became last week 1st on the ATP ranking after he won the Doha tennis open, where he pocketed $137,000.

The Moroccan tennisman is still holding the 1st place in the ATP ranking released this Monday.

Another Moroccan tennisman, Hicham Arazi -semi finalist at Australian Men's Hardcourt Championships in Adelaide- made it to the second round of the Melbourne tournament after defeating Swiss Ivo Heuberger.

A Moroccan tenniswoman, Bahia Mohtasine, winner of gold medal at the 14th Mediterranean games, took an early leave as she was upset by Spanish Anabel Medina Guarrigues.
