Larsen denies Israel's intention to pullout from Shebaa farms
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 1/12/2002
The UN special coordinator for the UN peace Terry Rod Larsen has denied Israel's intention to pullout from the Shebaa farms.
In a statement to the Lebanese daily al-Nahar issued on Friday, Larsen said there is no possibility for a nearby Israeli withdrawal from Shebaa.
He described what was stated by diplomatic circles concerning an American question on the fate of Hizbullah if Israel will withdraw from the Shebaa farms as an " assumption question."
He continued:" at the perspective of the UN Security Council, Shebaa farms are a Syrian territory." This statement made by Larsen was made following his meeting with the Syrian foreign minister on Thursday in Damascus.
