Syria provides electricity to Lebanon at an agreement between Miro, al-Hariri

The London- based al-Hayat daily said in its Wednesday's issue that the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro agreed with his Lebanese counterpart Rafiq al-Hariri to re-provide Syrian electricity to Lebanon through the two lines of al-Deimas Anjar and Tartous- Deir Nabouh, after the completion of the maintenance works carried out by the Syrian side and completed on Wednesday.
In a telephone conversation, the two states' premiers agreed on the need to sign agreements relating to providing Syrian electricity to Lebanon as the electricity agreement between the two states terminated by the end of 2001.
According to the renewed agreement, the director of the Lebanese electricity establishment Kamal al-Hayek headed to Damascus on Tuesday to complete the measures and sign the two agreement as well as to re-schedule Lebanon's debts to Syria as a cost for this electricity, estimated at USD 115 million.
