Arab Maghreb foreign ministers meet in January, a summit expected this year

The Tunisian foreign minister al-Habib Bin Yahya has stressed that the foreign ministers of the Arab Maghreb federation states will hold a meeting on January 16 and 17 in Algiers in order to revive and reactivate the federation's establishments in addition to selecting a new secretary general for the federation's secretary general in succession to Muhammad Amamou.

The Tunisian minister added that the 8th al-Maghreb summit of the Arab Maghreb federation which has been postponed for several times since 1995, will be held this year.

Meantime, press sources said that the foreign ministers of the Arab Maghreb federation states will discuss in their next meeting in Algiers the nomination of al-Habib Bulearas as a new secretary general for the Maghreb federation in succession to Amamou.

Worthy mentioning that Bulearas had assumed several governmental posts including the post of the foreign minister, the minister of defense and the information and the speaker of parliament in Tunisia.

It is also worthy to say that the constituent of the Arab Maghreb federation states the secretary general to be a Tunisian.
