Egyptian-Sudanese-Ethiopian water cooperation

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid on Wednesday met with Sudanese Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Kamal Ali Mohamed and Ethiopian Water Resources Minister Shiferaw Jarso.
Ebeid discussed with the two African ministers cooperation in the fields of irrigation, and reviewed with them joint Nile Basin projects aimed to maximize benefit from the Nile water all year round.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mahmoud Abu Zeid. Meanwhile, Ministers of irrigation of the three African countries started Wednesday evening cooperation talks in Cairo.
Experts from the three countries had met on January 7-8 and discussed an action plan for the current year.
The current meeting, lasting three days, will also cover utilizing grants offered to the Nile countries to conduct feasibility studies of relevant projects.
