A new border center between Oman, UAE
Oman-United Arab Emirates, Politics, 1/10/2002
Teibat police center was opened on Tuesday between Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
The center lies near the Omani borders adjoining the United Arab Emirates ( Raas al-Kheimah). It is, however, the fourth border center between the two countries following al-Wajajah, Wadi al-Jenzi and Haffit.
An Omani official source said the foundation of this center comes in "implementation of the directives of Sultan Qabous Bin Saeed of Oman." The ceremony held for the inauguration of the center was attended by the Omani ministry of national economy for economic affairs secretary Abdul Malik Bin Abdullah al-Hanaa'i. The project started in July 1999 and completed in July 20002. Its total cost was 687.745 Omani riyals and was established on an area of 2150 square meters.
