At last snowfall in Damascus

For the first time since almost 10 years snow have fallen since the early hours on Monday morning in the city of Damascus and in several Syrian provinces for the first time ( in Damascus) a matter which promises of a good agricultural season.
Damascus's streets, buildings, parks were dressed by snows amid glamour and joys expressed by the Syrians who took the streets and public places playing with the snow balls as an expression of their happiness in having snow in the thirsty city.
An official source at the general directorate for weather forecast department said on Monday that snowfall would have continued the whole day while rainfall will continue in most Syrian areas on Tuesday.
The source said that snow thickness in Hadar town ( Quneitra province ) reached until Monday 7 a.m. (local times) some 65 cm while snow thickness in Hena village 28 cm, 22 Cm in Serghaya ( outskirts of Damascus )and one cm thickness in the city of Damascus. Other Syrian areas of Kasab and Sulnfeh in Lattakia province and other areas in Tartous provinces snow thickness was over 15 cm.
The source said that Syria will undergo another air pressure of Pole Origin as from tomorrow Wednesday and the country will witness more rainfall and snowfall.
