Demand to be increased on domestic production

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid will declare before the People's Assembly a number of strategies, decisions and measures to be carried out by the government .
An official source told AL Ahram that the statement Ebeid will deliver tomorrow includes a wide array of important decisions in the economic and social fields with the aim of achieving social justice, protecting limited income brackets together with improving social services in the underprivileged regions.
Atef Ebeid will announce opening social solidarity system for categories that have no sponsors.
A sum of one billion pounds will be assigned for extending loans to low cost housing projects for the poor families.
Atef Ebeid will announce a number of measures for reactivating demand on domestic production and orientating the state investments to urgent projects, controlling the rhythm of the market, increasing exportation capacity and adopting a republican decree for establishing the Higher Council for modernizing industry.
The government policy statement will minimize measures that are geared to controlling public spending and managing public debt through the establishment of a new department at the ministry of finance, replacing high cost debts by less cost ones.
Ebeid said the government is keen to carry out assignments by President Mubarak for providing honourable life for citizens.
He said the government has taken 317 decrees for rearranging home from inside so that it may be more capable of coping with successive changes.
Ebeid said the government has fulfilled the obligations it has announced in the former statement including 21 decrees for providing job opportunities for youth and eliminating the problem of unemployment together with other 20 decrees for providing subsidy for essential commodities, 35 decrees for modernizing education, and 34 measures for effecting financial reform.
Ebeid said achievements accomplished last year included the establishment of 234 new markets for small size projects under BOT system, 56,000 new housing units with investments worth LE 1.9 billion, LE 650 million for subsidizing sugar and LE 655 million for subsidizing food oil.
Ebeid said development of education included extending care and protection for human element and improving the status of teachers.
He said 706 bakeries were established along with 155 projects for developing family and protecting women and children.
He pointed out that the government has fulfilled its pledges for providing the needs of the armed forces and supporting their pgrogrammes for protecting Egypt's soil.
He added that the government has provided all resources available for facilitating daily life for citizens and enhancing national unity.
He concluded that the government is keen to combat corruption at any place adding that all excesses uncovered by the central audits agency have been referred to interrogation bodies.
