Moroccan association launches international campaign for release of prisoners held by separatists
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 1/7/2002
The Moroccan Sahara association will stage, starting this January 11, an international campaign to claim the liberation of Moroccan soldiers and civilians held in the separatist Polisario's prisons in Algerian territory.
The campaign will seek to inform the international public opinion on the human tragedy of these prisoners who have been detained in inhumane conditions for more than two decades, says the association.
The campaign to be held in Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Canada, the USA, Qatar and Kuwait, also means to make pressure on the Algerian government to obtain their liberation the soonest and without conditions.
The association will be meeting non-governmental organizations, outstanding figures and journalists in the visited countries.
