Saddam Hussein's speech on the Iraqi army foundation day
Iraq, Politics, 1/7/2002

The Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said on Sunday in a televised speech on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the foundation of the Iraqi army that any aggression against Iraq will doom to failure. "The same happened in all previous confrontations," he said.

The Iraqi president said that the Iraqi army is ready to defend the country and will commit to protect the interests of the people and the sovereignty of the homeland. He also expressed support for the Palestinian Intifada and addressed the Palestinian people saying that Iraq is with them even without " having the Iraqi swords with them" and justifying that by the geographical and political conditions and barriers.

Saddam chanted his speech saying " Long live our glorious Arab nation. Long Live a free Arab Palestine from the river to the sea and from the sea to the river and damn Zionism and all evil allies. "
