Morocco's FM hails excellence of Moroccan-Bahraini ties

Morocco's minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, who started on Friday a work visit to Bahrain, hailed in an interview with local daily "Al ayyam" the excellent ties binding the two Arab states. Benaissa cited intensified talks between the two states within the Arab League follow up group and the Organization of Islamic Conference.
He also described the Moroccan cultural week in Bahrain, this January 7-11, as a mirror of the level of cooperation between the elite and creators of the two countries.
Benaissa praised decisions by the 22nd summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council to standardize customs duties, adopt a single currency and accept the membership of Yemen. He also underscored the political opening in Bahrain and the democratic evolution, initiated by Sheikh Hamad Ben Issa Al-Khalifa who is making efforts to associate all the society components in the political, economic, cultural and social modernization of the country.
