Libya-Regional, Politics, 1/3/2002

Libyan President Muammar Gadhafi has sent a personal envoy to New Delhi, as part of his initiative to defuse the India-Pakistan Tension, and avert a war between the two Asian countries.

The Libyan envoy, Salem Benamer, conveyed to Indian Home Minister Libya's condemnation of the December 13th attacks against the Indian Parliament Delhi, and of terrorism whatever its form, he said in a press declaration after the meeting.

In recent phone discussions with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, the Libyan leader urged both parties to show wisdom and spare their peoples the scourge of war.
