Morocco, Health, 1/3/2002
A team of surgeons in the Fez Al Ghassani public hospital succeeded in re-implanting the hand of a young man who had lost it when he was aggressed.
The operation, conducted out two hours after the aggression, took five hours, and is the fourth of its kind in Morocco.
The surgeons teams put the bone together, and stitched up the veins, nerves and tendons of the hand.
Two weeks days after the operation, the patient recovers a live vascular hand and will start an appropriate reeducation. The final results will be obtained in 6 to 9 months.
