Palestinian diplomat: Iran donates more than $ 1 million to Beit Mal al Quds

Iran will donate to Bayt Mal Al-Quds (Jerusalem Fund) us$ 1.3 Mln to support the Palestinian people, the fund director general, Wajih Hassan Ali Kacem told MAP correspondent in Teheran.
The sum will be go to housing projects and the construction of a dental medicine college in Al Quds, Abu Marwane said after a one week visit in Iran.
Iranian authorities are considering the possibility of building a dental prosthesis lab while other projects are under study by Iranian competent institutions, he added.
Abu Marwane, the Palestinian ambassador in Morocco, was also promised three buses for specialized schools, and the construction of a health center in Al Qods.
Concerning the contributions of Islamic countries, the Palestinian ambassador said Morocco had already granted US $ 7 million (4millions from the government and 3 millions from the citizens), Egypt (2.5 millions) and Saudi Arabia (2 millions). Other Muslim countries donated US $30,000 to 100,000.
During his stay in Iran, Abu Marwane met top officials, including the vice prime minister, a representative of the Iranian Revolution leader, the secretary general of the international conference for the Palestinian Intifada Support, and the president of the Palestinian-Iranian Friendship Committee.
He added that the agency has submitted US$ 25 million projects in the housing, health, education and refurbishment projects.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds is an agency of Al Quds committee, chaired by King Mohammed VI. Its objective is to thwart Israeli attempts to obliterate the Arab and Islamic features of the city, occupied by Israel in 1967.
