Sharon government continues attacking the Palestinians
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 1/3/2002

With return back of the US envoy Anthony Zinni to the region, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has reiterated his conditions he is trying to impose on the Palestinians before giving his consent to the implementation of the Tenent plan concerning the cease- fire and resumption of the negotiations.

During a meeting with his was minister Benjamin Bin Aleazer and the Israeli army chief of staff Shaoul Mofaz, Sharon said that Israel is persistent to attain a grace period and full suspension of what he called acts of violence for 7 days before beginning the consent to approve the implementation of the Tenent plan.

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation forces arrested on Wednesday the director of the Palestinian studies center Mustafa al-Barghouthi under the pretext that he stayed in Jerusalem without a license for four hours.

The Israeli radio said that al-Barghouthi had taken part in the press conference which was held under the auspices of several Europeans who recently organized demonstrations in defense of rights of the Palestinians.

The Israeli forces arrested 29 Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza.

Meantime, an explosive went off in the car of the chairman of the Kfar Saba settlement and resulted in destroying it totally.
