Israel prevents families of 13 Jordanian prisoners from visiting them in its jails
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 1/3/2002
The society of the Jordanian detainees families in Israel has called on the Jordanian government to interfere at the Israeli authorities and to make pressures on it in order to release them, especially as many of them had spent long years in the Israeli jails.
Meantime, Jordan's civil society establishments, people's activists, trade unions and people's commissions called for launching a campaign of solidarity with the detainees.
In a statement released on the occasion of the Jordanian people's conference in support of the Palestinian people, held by the vocational trade unions within the two past days, the society stressed that the 13 Jordanian detainees held in the Israeli jails are not permitted to be visited by their relatives, besides many of them suffer several diseases. A matter which requires interference and pressure on Israel to release them.
