Libya-Regional, Politics, 1/3/2002

Secretary of the people's committee for African unity in Libya Ali Abdul Salaam al-Tureiki on Wednesday discussed in telephone call with each of the Moroccan foreign minister Muhammad Bin Issa; Qatar's foreign minister Hamad Bin Jasem al-Thani; Sudan's foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael; the United Arab foreign minister Rashid Abd al- Nu'eimi and the Yemeni foreign minister Abu Bker al-Qurabi "conditions in the Arab region and the war of extermination imposed on the Palestinian people at the hands of the Zionist army."

Stress was laid during these telephone calls on the importance of taking a united Arab position in support of the Palestinian people to liberating their territories and founding their independent state on their own native soil.

Bilateral relations between Libya and these states and means of developing them in various fields were reviewed.
