UNICEF involved in social development program in Zagora

The UN children's fund UNICEF will participate in the elaboration of a social development program in favor of childhood in the Moroccan southern province of Zagora. UNICEF had contributed, part of a 4-year partnership program signed with the province of Zagora in 1998, to several social projects covering drinking water, education and healthcare.
The related cooperation statement was signed last week by the UNICEF delegate in Morocco, Olivier Theo Degreff, and the chairman of the Zagora provincial assembly, Rachid Kadiri.
The drinking water projects benefited 17,000 people in 17 villages.
