Moroccan sanitation team honored by Algiers governor
Algeria-Morocco, Culture, 1/2/2002

The Wali of Bab El Oued (district in Algiers) honored on Tuesday Moroccan sanitation experts who were dispatched to Algiers to help in restoring the sanitation system in floods-affected avenues.

At the end of their 40 day-long mission, the experts were invited to a dinner by local authorities of the capital city of Algiers and left for Morocco.

The group of voluntary experts were given collective and individual certificates and praised for their hard work and self-denial. "We even met on the site even on the Eid day," said the wali who also hailed Morocco's spontaneous gesture toward Algeria during hardship.

Morocco had also dispatched 30 civil rescuers when Algiers avenues were flooded after the heavy rainfalls in November. Six planes loaded with 7,5 tons of foodstuffs, medicine, blankets and tents were sent to Algerian families.
