Cooperation between Moroccan, Libyan institutions of former resisters and martyrs affairs probed
Morocco-Libya, Local, 1/2/2002
Means to bolster cooperation between the Moroccan high commissioner for former resisters and former members of the liberation army and the Libyan department in charge of the affairs of martyrs, pows, missing persons and war-injured, were probed at a meeting in Rabat between the heads of the two institutions, Mustapha Ktiri and Colonel Tayar Abou Kacem Mohamed M'sick.
The two sides voiced will to trade experience and to consolidate cooperation at the Maghreban level in the perspective of setting up a Maghreban union of the families of martyrs and former resisters, combatants and war victims.
They also discussed preparations of the Maghreban scientific colloquy to be held in Morocco January 24-26 under the topic "the Arab Maghreb unity in the memory of Resistance and liberation army movements."
The meeting equally stressed the need to reactivate the Arab union of former combatants and war victims so that the union musters all Arab organizations active in the field and to join efforts to back the work plan drafted by the African affairs permanent commission, affiliated to the international federation of former combatants, whose chairmanship is currently held by Morocco.
