Syria starts its membership at the UN security council

Syria, besides, other 4 new states to the UN Security Council on Tuesday joined the UN Security Council 15 member states.The election to choose the five countries whose membership started on Tuesday were held in October 2001. The last time Syria was a member at the UN Security Council was between 1970-1971.
In addition to Syria, the five new states are Bulgaria, Cameroon, Genie, and Mexico. These five states will replace Bangladesh, Jamaica, Mali, Tunisia and Ukraine.
