Israeli minister: Jews integration is more dangerous that the Holocaust
Israel, Local, 1/1/2002
The Israeli health minister Nasim Dahan of the extremist religious Sham part has raised a wave of protests in Israel as he considered on December 30, 2001 that the integration of Jews in other societies constitutes " a crisis more dangerous than the Holocaust" by Nazis against the Jews.
The Israeli minister said so before a gathering for extremists Jews and then he defended it in a statement to the Israeli radio by saying " the Holocaust was the greatest catastrophe in regard to human agonies," but the consequences of integration ( merging of Jews in other societies) was more dangerous for the Jewish people.
He claimed that number of Jews would have become now after more than 2000 years ( after the introduction of Judaism ) 200 million by " natural growth" unless huge part of those Jews integrated with other peoples and embraced other religions.
The Israeli deputy foreign minister Rabbi Michael Milikiore condemned these statements and said to the Israeli radio " I also consider integration as an evil but I can not compare any negative phenomenon to the Holocaust because this will result in the denunciation of this crime ( the holocaust)."
One of the Holocaust's survivor Tomy Lapid said that" religious extremists have a problem with the " Holocaust because the God was sleeping during that massacre." He called for the resignation of the minister.
