Libyan- Egyptian technical committee meets
Libya-Egypt, Politics, 12/31/2001
Meetings of the 2nd session of the Libyan- Egyptian joint trade and technical committee started on Saturday in Tripoli to reach solutions for problems impeding the trade exchange movement between the two states and to continue discussions of issues debated during the committee's previous meetings in Cairo in July 2001.
Worthy mentioning the committee was established according to the resolutions of the joint higher committee between Egypt and Libya which held its previous meeting in Tripoli to discuss trade and customs issues in order to attain solutions that help the flow of foreign trade between the two countries.
The Egyptian foreign trade ministry's first secretary al-Sayed al-Sa'eed Fuad stressed that rate of trade exchange between Egypt and Libya is not up to the level of political relations between the two states' leaderships as it only reaches USD 150 million.
He expressed his hope to increasing this volume through measures to be taken by this committee and other sides concerned between the two states.
