Egyptian-Saudi talks on boosting investments, trade exchange

Egypt and Saudi Arabia yesterday reviewed commercial ties and explored ways of enhancing them.
Prime Minister Atef Ebeid met with Osama El-Kordi, Secretary-General of the Saudi Federation for Chambers of Commerce to discuss means of fostering bilateral trade and activating the role of chambers of commerce in the two states.
A high-level Egyptian delegation headed by Minister of Supply and Home Trade Hassan Kheder will visit Saudi Arabia next week to follow up the talks.
Prime Minister Atef Ebeid yesterday held a meeting with members of the Chamber of Building Materials Manufactures and the Federation of Egyptian Industries.
The meeting dealt with means of benefiting from the building materials industry in the coming period, Engineer Samir Allam, Head of the Chamber, said.
"During the meeting, the Prime Minister referred to the necessity of contacting consultancies and government departments and officials responsible for private tenders to define quality standards for local products that can compete with their foreign counterparts," Eng. Allam said.
