Libyan, Egypt, Sudan FM s to meet in al-Khartoum

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Libya and Sudan will discuss in a meeting to be held in al-Khartoum on January 9, 2002 the question of national reconciliation in Sudan and the preparatory meeting for dialogue with the Sudanese factions.
The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman said that there is a trend from Egypt and Libya - the two countries of the initiative on Sudan- to convene the preparatory conference for dialogue in February 2002, however, Sudan has not yet received an official notification to this effect.
On the other hand, well-informed sources in al-Khartoum said that an American delegation arrived in Sudan two days ago. The Sudanese foreign minister did not deny nor confirm this news.
