Arab League chief confers with Ghali

The secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Amr Moussa on Wednesday discussed with the secretary general of the Francophonic organization Butrous Ghali the developments of conditions at the regional and international arenas and Arab- European relations and means of developing relations between the two sides especially on the political, economic and cultural fields.

In a statement following the meeting Ghali said he has discussed with Moussa the possibility of holding joint projects between the two sides in support of relations between the Arab states and the Francophonic states.

Ghali said that the Francophonic organization will convene its conference in October 2002 in Beirut to discuss the question of civilizations and cultures, stressing the importance of this issue under the current international developments.
