Arab summit to be held on March 25, 26
Regional, Politics, 12/27/2001

Lebanon's minister of information Ghazi al-Aredi said on Wednesday before the press that the next ordinary Arab summit will be held on March 25 and 26, 2002 in Beirut.

The decision to convene this summit in Beirut was taken in conclusion of the previous summit which was held in Amman on March 27 this year 2001.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) which was presumed to host this summit, referred this summit to Lebanon, to show solidarity with this country which is facing Israeli threats. The Arab summit approved the UAE proposal and Lebanon accepted it.

Since the Cairo Arab summit in 2000 the Arab states have embarked on the principle of holding annual ordinary summits in all the Arab League member states according to the Arabic Alphabet order. After Amman the summit was presumed to be held in Abu Dhabi ( UAE.)
