Arab Gulf women conference

A conference entitled " the political future of the woman in the Gulf Cooperation Council GCC member states " has called for in conclusion of its meetings in Kuwait to amending valid laws in the countries of the region to state " the right of the woman to be nominated and to elect in all legislative councils."
In its final statement the conference stressed the need of amending articles of laws pertinent to women according to international charters that have been already ratified, together with abrogating reservations which are not in contradiction with the Islamic Shareia ( Jurisprudence ).
The conference urged work to found a network of figures participating in the conference to coordinate, make consultation and exchanging experience, cooperation and follow up to achieve the objective of the conference in the area of Arab woman political involvement.
The conference's final statements recalled several " verses of the holy Koran and prophet Muhammad's saying to this effect."
