Doha, Moscow stress the need of solving ME problems at UN resolutions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed with the ruler of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani in the Kremlin on Tuesday the situation in the Middle East, the Iraqi question and the Afghani issue, the terrorism fighting process, key international issues and bilateral relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them in various economic, trade, investment and oil and has explorations areas.

The Russian president stressed that his meeting with the prince of Qatar is considered a continuity for the Russian policy which aims at strengthening cooperation and ties with the Arab states. He expressed his happiness over the recently strengthened relations with Qatar.

For his part, prince Hamad stressed that his country has been always seeking to strengthen cooperation relations with federal Russia which has been traditionally supporting the Arab homeland. Prince Hamad said:" I have arrived here to help to strengthening bilateral relations between Qatar and Russia in all fields.

Meantime, the Qatari foreign minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem al-Thani discussed all these issues with his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov. The two sides stressed the need of finding out a comprehensive solution for the Middle East question on the ground of UN security council resolutions 242 and 338 and the Madrid conference principles.

The spokesman for the Russian foreign ministry Alexander Yakovinko announced that the two ministers stressed the need taking urgent measures in order to reduce the extent of confrontations in the region.. The two ministers expressed strong concern over the escalated situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Ivanov stressed his country's cling to the position to suspending the economic sanctions imposed on Iraq and then to abrogate them in a latter phase and then resuming the UN monitoring of the banned Iraqi military programs.
