OPEC meetings in Cairo reflect Egypt's distinguished position

The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi Tuesday said holding the emergency OPEC meetings on Friday in Cairo for the first time reflects Egypt's distinguished position at the level of international relations and pivotal role in realizing just and overall peace in the region.
In press statements Tuesday, the minister said Egypt's participation in the meeting will enable it to directly coordinate with members states of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries in order to maintain stability on the global petroleum market.
The international concern with the Cairo meeting reflects the genuine wish of both producers and consumers to put an end to instability on the world oil market in terms of production and prices, he said.
The meetings will be attended by representatives at the ministerial level of Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Libya, Algeria, Iran, Indonesia, Venezuela, Nigeria and major producers namely Russia, Mexico, Norway, Angola, Oman and Kazakhstan, he pointed out.
