Islamic culture ministers meet in Doha saturday

The Culture ministers of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) are to convene their third meeting in Doha, Qatar, Dec.21 through 31 to address the anti-Islam and anti-Muslims media campaign that is waged in the West.

The meeting will try to come up with ways and means of countering the false and erroneous accusations and allegations circulated by this campaign. The meeting will decide on the best ways to present the true and genuine picture of Islam and its teachings.

The meeting will also debate a report on the preservation of Islamic cultural monuments and institutions in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

An international colloquy on Islam and cultural heritage will be held on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting. The colloquy will present Islam's stand on the preservation of the universal cultural heritage.

The ministerial meeting will be opened by the Emir of Qatar and acting chairman of the Islamic summit, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa, and will be attended by the OIC secretary general as well as by the general directors of the UN, Islamic and Arab organizations for education, science and culture, UNESCO, ISESCO and ALECSO.
