Morocco-Lebanon, Politics, 12/25/2001

Morocco and Lebanon signed in Rabat on Monday two agreements dealing with land transport and merchant navy to upgrade bilateral cooperation in ports staff training, shipbuilding and exchange of expertise in fields related to land transport and road safety.

The agreements, which consolidate the legal implements regulating cooperation between the two Arab states, were signed by Moroccan minister of transport and merchant navy, Abdeslam Znined and Lebanese minister of public works and transport, Najib Miqati, who arrived on Sunday in Morocco on an official visit.

The Moroccan official stressed the agreements come to crown efforts made since the Moroccan prime minister visited Beirut last October to chair the high joint commission.
