Regional, Economics, 12/25/2001
Following the incidents of September 11, three main issues have been proposed to develop Arab economics through expanding markets, creating new work opportunities and involving the Arab capital, effectively to building a bright Arab future, able of serving social and political objectives instead of the state of frustration prevailing the Arab region.
Arab experts indicated that the first of these raised issues is the return back of expatriate Arab sums in the world stock markets, and inviting these sums to be invested in major services and industrial projects carried out by the Arab states, the second issue is to establish efficient investment banks to invest financial surpluses of both individuals and companies, instead of leaving them invested by world investment banks and thirdly the absence of Arab financial establishments from taking a leading role to financing major projects in the Arab states.
These three issues which were raised in inter-Arab meetings and conferences are considered, by Arab experts as main and vital issues to accelerate economic growth in the Arab homeland and expanding financial markets as well as ensuring new work opportunities in the Arab states.
