Morocco hails formation of interim government in Afghanistan

Morocco hailed the formation of an interim government in Afghanistan as a major step towards the restoring of peace and stability in the country

Morocco also called the international community to bring the needed assistance to Afghanistan to allow the Muslim country achieve unity, security and stability, a statement of the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation released on Sunday said.

"Morocco which has been constantly following up with interest developments experienced by Afghanistan, a Muslim country, hails the major step covered thanks to the agreement concluded between Afghan parties to form an interim government to manage public affairs, and considers this event as a major step in the path leading to restoring peace, security and serenity for the Afghan people after the conflicts and misfortunes they underwent," the official statement reads.

Morocco also hopes that Afghan parties will seize this historic opportunity to achieve national reconciliation and consensus with a view to settle all domestic issues through peaceful means.

Morocco urges for intensification of international efforts to help Afghanistan guarantee its unity, security and stability and bring to the country the needed support for the reconstruction of the country and of its cultural, social and economic institutions.
