More pressures on Arafat
Palestine-USA, Politics, 12/24/2001

Sources close to the CIA unveiled that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat will very shortly face a very " complex situation" when he will receive from the American administration, rather than Israel, a list including the name of 120 officials and persons accused of planning for suicide operations inside Israel from the Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movements, the People's Front For the Liberation of Palestine and the People's Front For the Liberation of Palestine ( General Command) that he has ( Arafat) to arrest and almost hand over many of them.

The Kuwaiti daily al-Seyasah issued on Sunday quoted Gulf Diplomatic sources as saying that " the impossible task" of Arafat lies in the fact that 30 of the officials of these movements live outside the Palestinian territories especially in Damascus, Qatar and Iran.

The sources quoted a CIA official as saying that the Americans will ask Arafat for this list, after they had included the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, the two Palestinian People's Fronts and the Hizbullah party to the terrorism list, within an attempt by Bush not to place Arafat in a state of " national traitor " if those wanted are arrested or detained.
