Russian, American understanding over Iraq

The Russian foreign ministry on Friday announced that Russia and the US have reached an understanding concerning rates of commodities specialized for Iraq in the framework of the oil-for-food program. The sources aid that an understanding was reached following the Russian- American consultation on this matter, reached in Moscow during the two past days.
The sources explained the Russian delegation expressed during these consultation great concern over the increase in the number of frozen contracts by the UN sanctions committee signed with the Russian companies estimated at USD 860 million.
