An invasion on Mohelly, Comoros

The authorities in Comoros announced that the army liberated the area invaded on Wednesday morning by foreign members and forced them to flee away, noting that things are getting normal in the " small" island.

In a statement, the ministry of communications in Comoros said that:" Three attackers were killed following fire exchange while others fled," adding that the bodies of the killed and one wounded prisoner were taken to Morony.

In a telephone call, eye-witnesses said that foreign forces on Wednesday morning landed on Wednesday morning in Mohelly island, one of the provinces of the Republic of Comoros and controlled the army and the police.

The eye-witnesses in the city of Fombony, the capital of the invaded island, including former prime minister Muhammad Hassan said:" the attackers threw paper slips saying that they are the army of the USA and their interference comes in the course of fighting terrorism and aftermath contacts were cut with the said island.

The attackers are almost 100 include white men, many of them were masked and upon their landing controlled the army and police centers. No information were given if fighting erupted and the identity of the attackers is still vague.

However, publications circulated two or three weeks ago accused the head of the state Ghazali Othman of being terrorism supporter.

The paper slips circulated on Wednesday ( yesterday) said that the US army has interfered in retaliation to the attacks against Washington and New York on September 11 and called on the citizens to hand over the weapons they have.

However, well-informed sources said that the man who introduced himself as the commander of the foreign force speaks French fluently.

It was learnt that the government of Comoros confiscated a private trade plane to transport forces to Mohelly.

In Washington, the US defense department ( Pentagon) refused to comment on the news which said that American forces landed earlier on Wednesday in Comoros.

The spokesman for the Pentagon said that Washington has no information to this effect.
