Arab League: we are demanded to have a serious, united position
Regional, Politics, 12/20/2001
The Secretary general of the Arab League AL Amre Mousa has stressed that the Arab foreign ministers meeting will result in a clear cut and serious position, noting that Israeli conditions to attain peace will be rejected.
In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Watan issued on Wednesday, Mousa said that today's meeting will be an opportunity to listen to what the Palestinian side had proposed and then to agree on a certain Arab position towards the current Israeli policy and the Israeli military escalation against the Palestinian people and authority.
Mousa also expressed great concern over the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian authority and warned that this will lead the region as a whole into a very grave situation.
He said that the US bias to Israel does not raise optimism, noting that despite the fact the Palestinian Authority inclines to the restoration of political dialogue, yet the Israeli forces continue the policy of destruction against the Palestinian interests.
Mousa also stressed that the Israeli government tries to impose a de facto which is categorically refused by the Arabs.
